CSE
Feature Project- Central Virginia Training Center:

  • In Mid September 2010 a water-main ruptured at the Central Virginia Training Center in Madison Heights, VA. The uncontrolled release of water created flood like conditions resulting in a mudslide which collapsed the rear wall of the boiler house. With the rear wall collapsed, the roof structure failed, the boiler house flooded and buried the boiler and ancillary equipment in upwards to 4 feet of mud and debris.
CSE was responsible for designing and installing shoring towers to support the damaged roof system.

  • We structurally braced the front wall of the building to insure integrity of the building, thus allowing work to continue safely. We removed the damaged steam, condensate, and fuel lines, and rigged out the buried 65,000lb boiler.

We have reinstalled 1-12,000lb deaerator tank for the new boilers, and reinstalled the 4" condensate lines as well as the 6" and 8" steam lines. Upon completion of the inside work, CSE will remove the damaged roof, wall structures, and equipment.
